Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch
Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch CBE (conceived 19 July 1976) is an English on-screen character who has performed in film, TV, theater and radio. The child of performing artists Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham, he moved on from the University of Manchester and proceeded with his preparation at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, getting a Master of Arts in Classical Acting.
He initially performed at the Open Air Theater, Regent's Park in Shakespearean preparations and made his West End make a big appearance depicting George Tesman in Richard Eyre's restoration of Hedda Gabler in 2005. From that point forward he has featured in the Royal National Theater preparations After the Dance (2010) and Frankenstein (2011). In 2015, he played William Shakespeare's Hamlet at the Barbican Theater.
